Marooned in Mozambique

The sun has set, we have been flying most of a day that none of us wants to end. I haven’t even thought about landing, I want to fly until I cannot see. 500 Miles to Nowhere

Paragliding pilots Nate Scales, Nick Greece, Matt Beechinor and Gavin McClurg attempt a bivvy line from Hurricane Ridge, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We talked about my early years as a Canadian growing up in Saudi Arabia, to my days as a river guide in Alaska, to the tragic story of losing my boyfriend in a paragliding accident and being reminded of my own impermanence, to sailing around the world twice, to hopping trains in the Sahara Desert. During our conversation I take a deep dive into what makes a more compelling photo, what it was like to circumnavigate the globe on a sailboat, how I fell in love with photography, the problems she sees with social media creating too much of the same, and the advice I give to others out there wanting live out their own creative adventures.
